So, FIFA have decided that all technology tests should be ceased, and this is one of their key arguments against it:

If we start with goal-line technology then any part of the game and pitch will be a potential space where you could put in place technology to see if the ball was in or out, whether it was a penalty and then you end up with video replays

I don't understand, how is any of this a bad thing!?

Because then they won't have any control over letting bigger teams win when it suits, a la France, no pun intended.

FiveLive did a little recap of soundbytes from Jose Mourinho yesterday - can anyone guess which song they played as the bed for this feature?? Clue: I was surprised they used this band, but the name of the song makes it an obvious choice.

hmmmm by the way you are talking I'm guessing it would be Idlewild and then the only song that I can see that would fit would be: "I'm a message"

Am I close?

Good attempt, but the song name is more obvious, I would think of song names, and the band is someone most people on the forums like, but you Dave, not so much...

EDIT - don't start searching Radiohead or you'll never get it

Dave likes all music apart from Radiohead. What is this mystery other band? Arctic Monkeys?

Wat? Dave dislikes any number of whiney voiced bands that we love, and what do the press call Mourinho?[/spoon feed]

Now the BBC quotes of the week usually just fill time in the day at lunch but this one actually made me laugh and snort a bit of food.

Alan Green: "He's just gone off there, Vidic, for treatment to a cut across his nose."
Robbie Earle: "That's the same nose that got banged on mid-week against Milan."

EDIT: Oh god! and this:

"Strikers are a bit like goalkeepers, aren't they?"
Graeme Souness

That was amazing, although I didn't see it. I can't imagine Duff cutting through a team, he mucst be rolling back the years.
