There is clearly a concerted effort by NewsCorp (owners of Sky, The Times, The Sun etc) to steadily undermine the BBC in an attempt to create the necessary political, social and cultural will to challenge their privileged position in British life.

The BBC doesn't get everything spot on but in my opinion is still a very fine national media provider (it is too simple to call them a broadcaster) and is much better than the alternatives (god forbid we end up with Fox News, Glenn Beck etc)

I do like Sky Sports News though!

Just found out I came second in the office World Cup scores prediction competition, out of 33 people - my prize was a Jabulani!

The £80 one?! Get in lets go down a field and smack it around. If/when I eventually move I back onto playing fields so we might be able to have an end of summer/BBQ kick around?

I played with a Jabulani at the weekend.

It is very strange looking as it doesn't have any apparent seams and is very plasticky. It bounces ridiculously high as well!

Horrible to control (although that might be linked to the fact that I was playing for the first time in four months after an Achilles injury) but you can leather it.

BBQ/Kickaround sounds promising.

Sounds awesomeo, let's do it! Yeah, I haven't owned a decent ball for about 10 years! don't think it's the main expensive one though, think it's the standard replica version...
